VIN History

Whose truck was it before?

Enter a VIN and see every carrier it has been inspected under, newest first, with each carrier’s status today. The previous operator is the finding; the inspections are the evidence.

Organised by operator

One truck, every company that ran it.

Results are grouped by carrier rather than listed as a pile of inspections. Each operator shows its authority status today, how many times the truck was inspected under it, and when.

  • Year, make, model and class decoded from the VIN
  • Out-of-service results on each inspection
  • Works for any 17-character VIN
On paper
New venture

Authority six months old. Two clean inspections. No crashes.

From the VINs
Four-year-old operation

Sample data

Inside every report

Every unit on the account, checked.

The Operations tab of each carrier report lists every unit seen at roadside with its VIN, and flags units that also ran under another carrier. Trailers are shown too, but because trailers are pooled and interchanged, a shared trailer isn’t treated as a warning.

  • Units seen against units declared
  • Tractors that came from revoked carriers flagged
  • Trailer history shown, not scored

Where it helps

Underwriting, claims and audit.

VIN History answers the equipment question that a DOT-level report can’t: where did these trucks come from, and who is really operating them.

  • Search a single VIN from anywhere in Haulprint
  • Open the carrier report for any past operator
  • Save the result to the account file as PDF

New venture, used trucks

A six-month-old authority running tractors that spent four years under a revoked DOT is a different risk from a true start-up.

Date of loss

See which carrier a unit was inspected under around a given date, and what that carrier’s status was.

Schedule check

Compare the units on the application with the units officers actually saw at roadside.
